BLOKmove is a series of classes that bring together strength and mobility in equal measure; using gymnastic based skills and drills to work your whole body, whilst developing flexibility, core strength and balance.
BLOKmove Straddle Pancake Stretch introduces classic Pancake Drills. These drills work to release and lengthen your inner thigh muscles (adductors) and to stretch, strengthen and balance out your hip flexors (predominantly your psoas major and lower abdominals) that so often become tight and weak from a sedentary work environment.
The second half of the class builds on these movement patterns to strengthen your shoulder muscles (with a focus on the trapezius), as you work progressively towards a press to handstand.
Learn new exercises including straddle hip lifts, straddle toe taps and the Pancake Good Morning as we progress towards the Full Straddle Pancake, and ultimately the press to handstand.
Using low impact bodyweight exercises, this session is ideal for anyone keen to increase flexibility and learn new skills. Whether you have tightness from training, or from being stuck at a desk all day, this class is the perfect antidote.
